A Laminating Kick {and a deal for you!}

I’ve been giving my laminator a HUGE workout this week and am working my way well through a 50-pack of laminating pouches. Sad, but true.

Can’t wait to share how we’re doing our workbox cards this year, though!

Scotch Laminator

I have such a love for my laminator {if you don’t believe me, I wrote a lovely post titled “If a Girl Buys a Laminator..”}.

But I digress.

Amazon is offering an amazing $20 rebate on the Scotch Laminator that I use!! You have to buy a 50-pack refill along with it {but you’ll need them since you’ll be laminating everything in sight!!!}.

The laminator is $31.49 {pre-rebate} and the refill packs are $10.30. After the $20 rebate, you’re only paying $21.79 ~ which is a WAY better deal that what you can even buy it for in the store! If you’ve been trying to decide about buying one, now is definitely the time to do it. Since the rebate is mail-in, you’ll also get FREE shipping!! :)

Here’s the nitty-gritty details per Amazon:

Through July 31, 2010, get $20 back on the purchase of a Scotch thermal laminator and a 50-pack of thermal laminating pouches via mail-in rebate. View rebate form. Applies only to products sold by Amazon.com; does not apply to items sold by other merchants on the Amazon.com website. Not valid with any other mail-in rebate offers.

And don’t think I haven’t thought about buying a back-up. I could even try dual-laminating…Amazon prices have a tendency to go up and down, so I can’t guarantee this great price ~ if it’s low, buy it then!!

  • Oh my word...this looks awesome! Just noticed the rebate deal is good through July 31 (yeah) and you can get free super saver shipping if you order the qualifying amount (I think is $50) and with school staring in August I am sure I could do that!

Thanks so much for the heads up! I have always wanted one of these!

  • Jolanthe,

Thanks for the tip. I may buy a back-up for the NEW laminator I have and have not even used yet. I did at least take it out the box and will be finally using it this week. My parents gave me the same brand that you have.

  • I just purchased a laminator and 50 pouches, thanks to you! Now, I have to go find things to laminate!

  • I seriously bought a second laminator ~ considering it was $10 more and I need the pouches anyway. At least I'll have a spare now should I over-tax mine {haha}.

  • Our local teacher supply store charges 50c a foot for laminating. It's the thin stuff, but has worked well for everything that I print out from my computer for school. (It's the wide roll, maybe 3 feet across?) My question for you gals is...do you think that a laminator at home is worth the price? For about $20, I could probably have (120) 8 1/2 by 11 pages laminated at the store. (3 sheets per foot x 40 feet at 50 cents per foot = 120 sheets at $20 plus tax.) What do you ladies think?

By Blogger Angela, At June 26, 2010 at 12:38 AM

  • Angela ~ I don't know about the thickness of the laminating at your teacher supply store, but when I've had it done at our store, it's a really think lamination.

The stuff that I've had laminated at our teacher store {my mini-offices} are peeling back and not in great shape at all. I also like the convenience of being able to laminate when I want to at home ~ especially when I only need one sheet done, etc.... For us, it's been great.
