Colonial Williamsburg Homeschool Days

We just returned from spending some time in Colonial Williamsburg for Homes Educator Days. Let me just say ~ if you've ever wanted to visit with your family {and you homeschool} this is definitely the time of year to do it.

A two day's pass is only $8.00 {$9 for walk-up price} per person and kids 5 and under are free. To give you an idea on how great of a deal that is, a similar pass would be $46.00 per person. Single day passes are only $5 per person....so needless to say, we were happy to take advantage of the great deal!

I'm planning to post some more later about what we saw and did, but need to say that we had one little girl that was VERY excited to be walking around in colonial times....

  • Oh, I LOVE Williamsburg! When we were first married we lived about an hour from there and went up frequently. It's beautiful! Can't wait to take our kids someday!

  • My sister did this last year with her girls and they all had a fantastic time! I always pick up a packet of info at the Richmond Curriculum Fair when I visit her, and I forgot this year.

I am hoping our family can visit next year. :-)

  • She looks so beautiful and, dare I say it? GROWN UP! in this picture.

Guess what? We're coming down for the tail end of homeschool days - next weekend (Thur. - Sun.) How far are you from there?

  • We had wanted to go, but Thomas' work schedule didn't let it happen. Hoping to get there this weekend if he doesn't have to work.

  • We went over the summer and thought it was too much money for what we got to see. It would definately be a better value at that price. It is also a better trip for bigger kids, I think ours were just too small to really enjoy it.

  • Oh wow! Our family would enjoy this so much. I just googled the distance from my house...25 hours. *Maybe* I'll be up for it in the spring. Something about a 25hr trip with 4 kiddos just seems intimidating :)

  • We are leaving Saturday, for a week at Williamsburg. We are taking 2 of our 18 grandchildren. We homeschooled our children and our grandchildren are being homeschooled. Do we need proof of home schooling status? Thanks, Bunny bunny37617@yahoo.com
