Conference Sponsorship Information

Thanks so much for your interest in sponsoring Homeschool Creations and having your product promoted! You probably would like to learn a little more about me and my site before deciding if Homeschool Creations is a blog you would like to sponsor.

A Few Details

  • Blog Beginnings ~ Homeschool Creations began on December 18, 2007 as a means for me to track the things we were doing during our school time with our children. I already had another blog in place, No Ordinary Moments, for general family fun, but my homeschool blog quickly grew as I began writing curriculum reviews and getting to know other moms through blogging.
  • Primary Focus of Homeschool Creations: Currently I share about our geography studies, toddler and preschool ideas, Bible time and printables, and also various curriculum resources for families.

The Relevant Conference

The Relevant Conference is focused toward Christian women bloggers and will be an opportunity for me to be face-to-face with other homeschooling moms. While I am a very social person, this excites me more than anything ~ being able to connect with other women who are at a similar place in life and being able to share and learn with them!

I am looking for a sponsor to assist in travel, conference fee, and hotel costs for the upcoming Relevant Conference in October 2010. If you would be willing to sponsor me for the Relevant Conference, it will give me the opportunity to make more connections in the blog world, learn even more about networking from some amazing ladies in the blogging world, and also teach me more about how to grow my blog ~ ultimately giving you more exposure!

        Estimated costs

    • conference registration ~ $225
    • hotel ~ $185
    • travel/fuel expenses ~ $65 fuel

Total: $475

There will be approximately 250 in attendance at the conference, many who have a large sphere of influence in the blog world and social media. You can see a list of the amazing speakers here.

Representing Your Company

  • I will be your advocate at the conference where I will be able to network with hundreds of other women face-to-face.
  • I will offer you four months of top-billing advertising on my blog {worth $ 40/month} ~ much of this will be during PRIME back-to-school planning time!!
  • I will write about your company before, during and after the conference ~ I would love to do a video post {vlog} and will also promote your products using our family blog, facebook, and twitter.
  • I will GLADLY wear any logo wear that you may have available
  • I will have a laptop skin on my computer during the conference with an ad for your company and products.
  • I will run a giveaway contest during the time of the conference {or several smaller giveaways featuring the different products, to pull my blog readers into all the fun.
  • I will offer 'hands-on' demonstrations during the conference for other moms to see your product in action.

Additional Exposure for Your Company and Products

I write for several other blogs and depending on the product that I am sent, they may be cross-referenced on those blogs. No Ordinary Moments is a site where I frequently share items that we are using along with book reviews and more.

If you are interested in partnering with my blog, please contact me to discuss any of the following options further:

Reviews and/or Giveaway
  • Having your product reviewed. Our family is always willing to try new products and I write a detailed review on the product. I let my readers know about the product, how the product worked in our family, and my recommendations on the product. I always strive to give my HONEST opinion on a product. If I have any problems, I always contact that company first to resolve any issues.
  • Hosting a giveaway. I am always open to hosting a giveaway of your product for my readers.
  • Giveaways should be for something that I have used personally. I am not comfortable hosting a giveaway for something that I do not have personal experience with and cannot recommend myself. As fun as giveaways are, I have created a relationship with my readers and will only recommend/giveaway items that will benefit them.
  • Review items should be sent prior to a giveaway event. I will happily write a review of products that I receive for reviews and giveaways, but need to have sufficient time to use the product myself and with my family. Whenever possible, I try to include pictures of our personal use of the product.
  • Giveaway items should be shipped directly to the winners. To help lessen the cost of shipping items twice, giveaway sponsors are responsible for shipping items to the winners. I will gather all information prior to shipping and put the winner in contact with the sponsor.
Additional Exposure for Giveaways

I write for several other blogs and depending on the product that I am sent, they may be cross-referenced on those blogs. No Ordinary Moments is a site where I frequently share items that we are using in our household {cooking, organizing, books, family items, etc...}. The giveaways I host:
  • May require readers to visit your site and answer a specific question in order to enter the giveaway. This will increase traffic to your site as well as ensure entrants are reading and learning about your product.
  • Will be promoted via Twitter and Facebook.
  • May include a special logo button that others can post on their sites/blogs to help spread the word about the giveaway.
  • May include pictures of our family using your product. My readers enjoy seeing the product as we used it and it helps them know I am sincere about the product.
  • Will only include products that I truly feel are beneficial to my readers. If it is a product that I can't stand behind, I will not promote it.
  • Will include direct links to your blog along with logo buttons from your company. Feature giveaways will include logos in my sidebar as well that link to your site.
  • Will be listed in the Treats 4 Your Tot feature on Totally Tots if it is Tot-friendly.

Candy Cane Lapbook Pictures

I finally got around to taking some pictures of my lapbook. I did videotape Laurianna showing off hers and will upload it soon. She's been pulling that sucker out to show everyone. :) Very cute.

I added an extra "flap" in our lapbooks to give a little extra room to put more stuff in. It's just an extra half of a file folder glued into it. To make the base of the lapbook, you refold a regular file folder so that the edges meet in the middle.

I'm hoping that we can do one lapbook each month just to change things around a little bit with the girls for the remainder of this school year. Next year we're going to try and use this method a little bit more as we move into geography units.

The Legend of the Candy Cane

We're almost done with our lapbooks for "The Legend of the Candy Cane". Well, mine is done (I don't want to brag!! hee hee). The girls have been so amazingly excited about these lapbooks. Which is EXACTLY what I was hoping would happen with this transition.

Laurianna is constantly asking when we are going to work on it next...she is very excited to add to her book and it doesn't seem like "work". My in-laws visited us briefly last night on their way back from Florida, and while I was in the kitchen getting dinner ready, I overheard Laurianna telling Grandma all about her lapbook as she flipped through and explained every little piece and part of her "in-process" book. That was a moment that I was so happy to overhear!!

Today we made peppermint playdough to go along with this unit. I will post pictures of my lapbook tomorrow and when the girls are done, I'm planning to videotape them "showing off" their own lapbooks and telling all about their creations. Both girls have had a great time cutting, pasting, coloring, exploring new things - and it all is so much FUN (for everyone involved!).
Homeschool Share is an AMAZING website if you would like some more lapbooking units. You can click here for a link directly to the Legend of the Candy Cane info that I am using right now. They also have a great Gingerbread Baby unit....which we may have to look into for late January.

We're starting to do some lapbooking along with our homeschooling and will try to keep the creations that we make posted here to share with you all.

This week we are reading the book "The Legend of the Candy Cane" by Lori Walburg and are starting that lapbook tomorrow...stay tuned!
